This individual will perform intermediary design and technical tasks requiring application of standard practices and knowledge while working under direct supervision of more experienced staff.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Revit with 3D modeling skills (i.e. Grasshopper and Rhino)

PROJECT DESIGNER (3-5 yrs.)

Seeking a motivated Job Captain, able to work independently and collaboratively with direction as needed. This individual should expect to participate in all phases of project development; site design, architectural and interior design, construction documents and construction administration. The architectural job captain will oversee day-to-day progress and report outstanding issues to the project lead. The job captain will review drawings, make/ suggest revisions, and update designs accordingly. This individual should be an effective communicator with the ability to convey design concepts and spatial implications to the project lead and clients for review. Such candidate would receive suggestions and feedback on the work performed and would be expected to incorporate such revisions into the documents. The job captain is also expected to work within project schedules and adhere to budgetary constraints.

Your New Role:

  • Assist Project Architect/Manager in developing project documents for bidding and construction

  • Experience with the development of construction documents for wood-frame multifamily housing is desirable

  • Responsible for the development and coordination of drawings and specifications including: program compliance; general familiarity with codes and regulatory 

       guidelines, schedule commitments; product research

  • Competency in construction detailing is a strength

  • Ability to work efficiently and meet project milestones and deadlines 

  • Ability to function in all phases of project development from schematic design through construction and contract administration

  • Proficient usage of REVIT/BIM in a team shared model atmosphere

JOB CAPTAIN (5-7 yrs.)

PROJECT ARCHITECT/MANAGER (10+ yrs.)

Seeking a registered Project Architect/Project Manager with experience on large, commercial development projects (specifically urban multifamily housing), involving client interaction and leadership responsibilities. The Project Architect/Manager will oversee project schedules and budgets, supervise junior staff and lead the technical documentation aspects of our projects. Prior experience with wood frame over podium multifamily housing experience; new construction, renovation and/or adaptive re-use is preferred along with a solid understanding of state and local building codes and ordinances. The successful candidate must be flexible and able to work collaboratively within a high-performing team to support the work and advancement of the firm as a whole.

 

 

Your New Role:

  • Working collaboratively with designers, consultants, contractors and owners to achieve mutual project goals

  • Engaging in ongoing coordination with engineering disciplines and design-assist subcontractors

  • Managing technical coordination and project scheduling

  • Experience with the development of construction documents (specific experience with wood-frame multifamily housing strongly preferred)

  • Organize and direct the architectural and contract engineering team to execute the work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner

  • Responding to Requests for Information (RFIs)

  • Reviewing and coordinating submittals and shop drawings

  • Coordinating and detailing technical solutions in support of the design intent

  • Interfacing with Regulatory Authorities and inspectors concerning code compliance

  • Interfacing with Owner-provided inspectors and project managers concerning quality control

 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Architecture

  • Bachelor of Architecture degree required; Master of Architecture preferred

  • Registered Architect in good standing to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

  • LEED Accreditation a plus

  • Exceptional scheduling, staff and time management skills

  • Experience providing Design & Construction Administration services

  • Experience with local and state building codes and tested life safety features

  • Experience with exterior envelope systems from design through construction completion

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proactive approach to timely problem solving

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)

  • Proficient use of Revit Architecture in a shared BIM environment is required

  • Ability to manage internal design team, engineers and sub-consultants
