PROJECT DESIGNER (3-5 yrs.)

Seeking a passionate and talented Project Designer interested in working on urban mixed-use commercial development projects with the ability to craft and nurture meaningful design solutions tailored to the project and clients' unique culture and context.  Architectural Designer will work on a variety of projects in various stages of design and construction. This individual will perform intermediary design and technical tasks requiring application of standard practices and knowledge while working under direct supervision of more experienced staff.

 

Your New Role:

  • Development of planning and conceptual designs
  • Design and documentation support on projects
  • Assist in the production of contract documents
  • Participate in collaborative team meetings

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree; B Arch or M Arch desired
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience (Commercial experience is a BIG plus).
  • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills and ability to work within diverse teams of designers
  • Proficiency in Revit with 3D modeling skills (i.e. Grasshopper and Rhino)
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketchup or 3DS Max desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to participate in multiple projects with competing deadlines

JOB CAPTAIN (5-7 yrs.)

Seeking a motivated Job Captain, able to work independently and collaboratively with direction if needed. Candidate should expect to participate in all phases of project development; site design, architectural and interior design, construction documents and construction administration. The Architectural Job Captain will oversee day-to-day progress and report progress and outstanding issues to the project lead as needed. The Job captain will review the drawings and make/ suggest revisions, and update designs accordingly. The job captain also presents drawings and schematics to the project lead and clients for review. They receive suggestions and feedback on the work performed and then takes any necessary revisions back to the team to be executed. The job captain is also expected to ensure that work is completed on schedule and adheres to all budgetary constraints. The captain is likely to have input, if not total responsibility, for hiring new members to his or her team as well. The job captain typically works in an office during regular business hours, but this position often includes onsite visits.

A bachelor’s degree in architecture is generally required for this position. Companies also typically require five years or more of architectural experience before considering an applicant for this supervisory role. (Copyright 2019 PayScale.com)

  • Assist Project Architect/Manager in developing project documents for bidding and construction.

  • Experience with the development of construction documents for private sector work is desirable.

  • Responsible for the development and coordination of drawings and specifications including: program compliance; code and agency compliance; schedule commitments; product research.

  • Competency in construction detailing is a strength. 

  • Experience in managing projects, project consultants and clients

  • Ability to function in all phases of project development from schematic design through construction and contract administration.

  • Proficient usage of REVIT/BIM

PROJECT ARCHITECT/MANAGER (10+ yrs.)

Seeking an experienced Project Architect/Manager who has worked on large, complex commercial development projects involving client contact and leadership responsibilities. The Project Architect/Manager will perform architectural design and development work for projects involving construction of new buildings and the alteration of existing buildings and facilities. The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work with a high-performing team to support other services when the need arises.

 

 

Your New Role:

  • Working collaboratively with designers, consultants, contractors and owners to achieve mutual project goals
  • Engaging in ongoing coordination with engineering disciplines and design-assist subcontractors
  • Managing the technical coordination and project scheduling of all phases of a project from concept through construction
  • Experience with the development of construction documents for private sector work
  • Organize and direct the architectural and contract engineering team to execute the work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated manner
  • Responding to Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Reviewing and coordinating submittals and shop drawings
  • Coordinating and detailing technical solutions regarding design, fabrication and installation
  • Assisting and leading the effort to prepare Change Order documents and seeking approvals
  • Monitoring installation and performing completion reviews
  • Interfacing with Regulatory Authorities and inspectors concerning code compliance
  • Interfacing with Owner-provided inspectors/project managers concerning quality control

 

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in Architecture
  • Bachelor of Architecture degree required; Master of Architecture preferred
  • Licensed Architect; LEED Accreditation a plus
  • Exceptional scheduling, managing information flow and time management skills
  • Experience providing Design & Construction Administration services on wood-frame over podium multifamily construction
  • Experience with building codes and tested life safety features
  • Experience with exterior envelope systems from design through construction completion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive approach to timely problem solving is a must
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • User of AutoDesk Revit Architecture required
  • Adobe CS4, Sketchup, 3DStudio Max and/or Form Z a plus
  • Ability to manage team and design consultants
